how does a spin wheel work?

When you need to generate a sense of excitement and suspense among your family, friends, clients or colleagues, a spin wheel is an ideal choice. As the name suggests, this interactive gadget is a wheel which can be spun to generate an outcome from the selection it contains. It looks like a classic carnival game that is simple and straightforward enough for people of all ages to use with ease. To understand the concept better, let us take a closer look at how does a spin wheel work?

A spin wheel consists of two parts – the base and the dial or pointer. The dial contains the various selections that you wish to choose from - colors, prizes and so on. These selections will usually be pre-selected depending on the purpose for which you have chosen the spin wheel.

Once all the selections are made, they are marked onto the dial with some form of color-coded marking system such as colors or dots. The base will contain markings that are connected to those on the dial and when you spin it, either by hand or using some other mechanical device like an electric motor, these markings will interact with each other causing friction and thus causing the pointer to move along in a certain direction based on how it was spun.

Once it comes to rest after spinning, whichever item appears under the pointer at that moment is considered as having been selected randomly. This method of selection can be used for games of luck whatsoever and has been known to be used even in game shows where huge prizes are up for grabs! For instance if someone spun a wheel at home a certain prize may come up as part of their own family game night - such as ice cream sundaes- while if someone spun it during an episode of 'The Price Is Right' they could win more substantial prizes such as cars or trips away!
